About Appia
The Road Ahead for Mobile Content
Appia is the world's largest open app marketplace with a catalog of more than 140,000 paid and free apps.
Appia is not an application store. We are a marketing platform, bringing the content from over 32,000 talented developers and content creators to the mobile application storefronts of 40 partners around the world. The Appia Developer Program provides a one stop shop for developers to market and distribute their wares, and the Appia Commerce Platform delivers that content to consumers in over 175 countries and over 2,000 different mobile phones
Appia is headquartered in Durham, NC with offices in Dallas, TX, and Munich, Germany.
Why we're different
- Not a store – A Marketplace : We are a marketplace of many stores. No two stores are alike, with each one serving a brand and their unique customers with a custom blend of apps, devices and experiences.
- Any Platform : We market and deliver apps on virtually ever major mobile OS: Android, iOS, Blackberry, Symbian, Java, Palm and Windows. We can deliver content for any app type.
- Free and Paid Apps : Support for virtually any business model for app developers: Paid downloads, In-App billing, Advertising. Our platform supports them all and gives developers the most flexibility in how to best drive usage.
- White Label : We are not a consumer brand, instead we power storefronts under the brand and user experience of our channel partners, giving them complete control over the look and feel of their mobile application store experience.

About our Name
The name Appia comes from the ancient Roman highway Via Appia. Built in the 4th Century BC, the Appian Way became one of the most strategically important roads and distribution channels in ancient Rome. It connected people, moved troops, and fostered tremendous economic growth. That is our mission today – to connect application developers and markets and foster the huge mobile application ecosystem.
